WELCOME TO THE MANGALOREAN CATHOLIC ASSOCIATION EAST COAST

The Mangalorean Catholic Association East Coast (MCA-EC Inc.) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to uniting Mangalorean Catholic families across the region. We are a community bound by Roman Catholic faith, rich cultural traditions, and our mother tongue, Konkani.

Whether you are newly arrived on the East Coast or have lived here for decades, MCA-EC serves as a spiritual and cultural home away from home—keeping our heritage vibrant for present and future generations.

Our Heritage & Culture

The Mangalorean Catholic community traces its roots to the coastal region of South Canara in Karnataka, India—encompassing both Mangalore and Udupi, as well as surrounding towns like Kundapur, Shirva, and Karkala. Over centuries, our ancestors built a distinct identity that seamlessly blends deep Christian faith with vibrant South Asian customs and the Konkani language.

FAITH

Catholic spirituality sits at the core of who we are. From parish novenas and family rosaries to spiritual retreats and festive masses, our Catholic faith guides our personal lives and unites us as a community in Christian love and charity.

CULTURE

Our identity is rooted in the coastal region of South Canara, Karnataka, India - encompassing Mangalore, Udupi, Kundapur, Shirva, Karkala, and surrounding towns. Over centuries, our ancestors forged a distinct heritage that blends Catholic devotions with vibrant South Asian traditions and the Konkani language.

UNITY

We believe strength lies in bringing people together. Through our neighborhood chapters (Vados), youth initiatives, and regional gatherings, MCA-EC bridges distances across the East Coast - creating a close-knit support network for families and the next generation.

Philanthropy & Service

Living our faith means serving others. Guided by the spirit of Christian charity, MCA-EC actively engages in local and global philanthropic initiatives:

  • Blessing Bags Drive: Assembling and distributing care packages containing essential toiletries, warm clothing, and non-perishable goods for local unhoused and underserved individuals.

  • Food & Meal Donations: Organizing food drives and donating meals to local shelters, food banks, and community pantries to combat food insecurity.

  • Financial Aid & Disaster Relief: Raising funds to support charitable causes, emergency relief efforts, and educational/medical assistance.
